  WEBCAST TODAY: #ARIN36 in Montreal @TeamARIN 

  Today Thursday, 8 October, 2015 and tomorrow Friday, 9 October, 2015 the American Registry for Internet Numbers is hosting the ARIN 36 Public Policy and Members Meeting  in Montreal, Canada. ARIN holds open, biannual Public Policy and Members Meetings where attendees gather to discuss draft Internet number resource policies, network with colleagues, and attend workshops and tutorials. ARIN offers a webcast and live transcript of the full meeting, and registered remote participants will have access to a meeting chat room where they can submit comments and questions to the discussions during the meeting.

  Today Wednesday 30 April 2014, from 9:30am-2pm EDT, the Washington DC Chapter of the Internet Society (ISOC-DC) and the Institute for International Economic Policy, George Washington University will present Scenarios for the Future of Internet Governance – a dual-panel conference on the proposed IANA transition. Speakers include Fiona Alexander of the NTIA, Milton Mueller of the NCUC, Richard Jimmerson of ARIN, and ISOC’s own Raquel Gatto from Brazil. The event will be webcast live via the Internet Society livestream channel.

  REMOTE PARTICIPATION: #ARIN33 underway in Chicago 

  The American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) holds open, biannual Public Policy and Members Meetings where attendees gather to discuss draft Internet number resource policies, network with colleagues, and attend workshops and tutorials. Currently – April 13-16 2014 the 33rd meeting is underway in Chicago IL. Remote participation is available via webcast, live transcription, and jabber chat. There is also a cross platform mobile app (made available after you register).

  WEBCAST: INET St. Maarten Sep 25-26 – Embracing an Open, Accessible and Secured Internet #inetstmaarten #openinternet @internetsociety 

  On September 25-26 2013 INET ST. Maarten will take place on the Caribbean island St-Martin / St. Maarten. The theme is Embracing an Open, Accessible and Secured Internet. Speakers include top Internet Society staff such as Christine Runnegar, Director of Public Policy and Jane Coffin, Director, Development Strategy, as well as ARIN’s CTO Mark Kosters. This will also be an opportunity to meet regional ISOC leadership with Sebastian Bellagamba, Regional Director, Latin America and the Caribbean, Shernon Osepa, Manager, Regional Affairs for Latin America & the Caribbean Bureau, and Christian O’Flaherty, Senior Development Manager for the Latin America Bureau, also speaking.   Tomorrow, Tuesday January 15, 2013, American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) CEO JohnCurran will present a webinar “Ready or Not … IPv6 is Here” aimed primarily at business. It starts at 2pm EST (1900 UTC).

   

  We have reached a critical point in the future of the Internet. IPv4 addresses have now fully depleted from the IANA free pool, and two out of five Regional Internet Registries (RIRs) have already reach their final inventories of IPv4 address space, including the Asia-Pacific and European regions.  ARIN, the RIR that manages the distrubtion of IP addresses in Canada, the US, and parts of the Caribbean, could face IPv4 depletion soon as well.  It is imperative that companies adopt the next generation of Internet Protocol, IPv6, before time runs out and the global Internet community is fragmented. In order to avoid potential operability issues later, organizations everywhere are encouraged begin IPv6 adoption now, as consumers will start to expect IPv6 enabled websites.

  In this webinar, John Curran will describe the business case for adopting IPv6, the steps enterprises should already be taking to prepare for post-IPv4 depletion challenges, and how to get IPv6 address space from ARIN. He will also review regional and global IPv4 depletion and IPv6 adoption statistics, address allocation trends, and the IPv6 educational resources available to help hosting companies and other network operators prepare.

  ARIN XXV Public Policy Meeting – Toronto – 4/18 – 4/21 

  The American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) will be holding its 25th Public Policy Meeting in Toronto on April 18-21 2010.

  ARIN manages the distribution of Internet number resources, including IPv4 and IPv6 address space and AS numbers. With the pool of IPv4 numbers rapidly expiring, important decisions have to be made.

  Fellowship Program

  ARIN will provide financial support for one individual from each of the three sectors within ARIN’s service area (Canada, the Caribbean and North Atlantic Islands, and the United States and Outlying Areas) to attend ARIN XXV Public Policy and Members Meeting. Priority will be given to applicants who will be attending their first ARIN meeting. The purpose of the fellowship program is to broaden education outreach in the community and bring new ideas into the public policy discussions.

  Fellowship applications are being accepted for ARIN XXV – deadline: 26 February 2010
