The New York Public Service Commission is actively conducting a survey to determine residents’ level of Internet connectivity in their respective communities. The survey and speed test can be accessed via https://www.empirestatebroadband.com.
Residents can also complete a paper survey, by calling 1-855-NYBBMAP (1-855-692-2627) and following instructions to have a paper copy mailed directly to their home.
On Wednesday – Thursday February 24-25 2016 The New York State Department of Public Service will hold a Technical Conference in NYC to discuss their recent Telecommunications Study. The Telecommunications Study is designed to help the
Commission and the State Legislature identify areas where there may be market failures or opportunities to advance the public interest. The event will be webcast live, and that webcast will be mirrored via the Internet Society Livestream Channel.

On Wednesday June 15 2015 the New York State Public Service Commission held a Public Statement Hearing at the NY Institute of Technology in NYC on the recently issued Department of Public Service Assessment Report on the State of Telecommunications in New York.
