The 36th meeting of ICANN takes places next week in Seoul, Korea. There will be plenty of opportunity for remote participation kicking off with the At-Large Working Session on Sunday 10/25. Seoul is 11 hours ahead of New York, so be ready to do without much shuteye!
If there’s just one event that one should consider putting into one’s calendar it would be the Public Forum on Thursday (9pm-1am Weds EST).
ISOC-NY is happy to hear that, subsequent to our recent forum that At-Large and the NCUC will be holding a collegiate meeting in Seoul in which further attempts will be made to settle their differences over the introduction of new constituencies in the GNSO.
While we are on the subject of participation in ICANN, it should be noted that the public are invited to comment on current topics at http://www.icann.org/en/public-comment/.
Amongst the open fora is one concerning Proposed Rights Protection Mechanisms in New gTLDs which surprisingly, since this issue raised so much active debate at the recent NYC consultation, has as yet received zero input!
