Pew: Majority Of Americans Access Net Wirelessly
A new Pew Internet report Mobile Access 2010 on American’s Internet usage finds that 59% of adults now access the internet wirelessly using a laptop or cell phone, up from 51% in 2009.
The report notes much higher use of phones for Internet access by minorities. Around 42% of all African-Americans and English-speaking Latinos access the internet from mobile phones, compared to around 29% of whites.

A subsequent Pew report Trends in broadband adoption (Aug 2010) notes that In contrast to the population as a whole, broadband adoption among African-Americans grew significantly between 2009 and 2010.
