Thanks to Graham Webster of CNET’s Sinobyte, we have audio of Tim Berners-Lee’s press conference at the WWW2008 conference in Beijing last week.
Tim goes into some detail about the semantic web concept, and its linked data implementation. He explains the rationality of the royalty-free basis of the WWW, and expresses confidence in its future while calling for openness, development, vigilance, and international standards. He also looks forward to an IPv6-enabled ubiquitous web.
If you listen to the audio – you may want to seek forward 5 minutes to bypass the Chinese introduction. The whole thing is 50 minutes.
