MEETUP/WEBCAST 4/22 – @NSF @Mozilla Wireless Innovation for a Networked Society Challenges NYC Launch #nsfwins

LivestreamOn Saturday April 22 2017 the National Science Foundation and Mozilla will host a launch event for the Wireless Innovation for a Networked Society Challenges at eBay’s office in NYC. These competitions, which have $2m in prizes, challenge the public to identify and demonstrate solutions to further wireless networks in two scenarios. (1) The Off-the-Grid Internet Challenge aims to find wireless solutions for communication that can be rapidly deployed in post-disaster situations where Internet access is unavailable or compromised. (2) The Smart Community Networks Challenge aims to find wireless solutions for communication that can be built on top of existing infrastructure to enhance Internet connectivity in communities that need greater access. Each challenge will consist of two stages: a Design Concept Stage and a Working Prototype Stage. If you wish to attend in person RSVP here. The event will be webcast live on the Internet Society Livestream Channel.
