ISOC-NY ICANN Special Interest Group

This group, formed in Feb 2008, is where ISOC-NY members study domain-name and IP address related issues, and formulate policy positions that can be advocated to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) 1) via our membership in the Non Commercial Users Constituency (NCUC) of the Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO), and 2) (potentially) via the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) as an At-Large Structure (ALS) in the North American At-Large Community (NARALO).

A matter of current concern, "Fast flux hosting" refers to the automated, rapid modification of IP addresses assigned to hosts in the DNS to hide the location of web sites supporting malicious, illegal, or criminal activities
