    LivestreamToday January 5 2018 at 7pm EST the Internet Society Livestream Channel presents the launch the Internet Society 2017 Global Internet Report – ‘Paths to our Digital Future‘. In 2016, the Internet Society launched a project to take stock of the key forces of change that could impact the future of the Internet. The broad Internet community was engaged via multiple surveys, interviews, and roundtables. The full report was released on September 18 2017, with a distinguished panel discussing its findings, to kick off InterCommunity 2017

      The architecture of the internet is only part of the solution to ensure greater security.
      People should helps the architecture by checking sources of information before sharing.
      Brazil is experiencing a critical political moment.
      Brazilians fight against corruption and at this point the free internet is an instrument of democracy.
      It is through the internet that the Brazilian people express themselves against the rulers because popular movements in the streets can be harshly repressed by the government.
      Ensuring free, secure internet to broad is to protect democracy.

A broad section of the Internet community was engaged via multiple surveys, interviews, and roundtables. The full report ‘Paths to our Digital Future‘ was released on September 18 2017.

    Following the launch, in a global online meetup – InterCommunity 2017 – speaking from regional interactive online nodes, individuals were able to comment on the report’s findings. In NYC, Eli Noam – director of the Columbia Institute for Tele-Information (CITI) was one of those lending their thoughts. Video is below.

    INVITE: Internet Society’s 25th Anniversary – NYC Celebration Node + Lunch – Sep 19 2017 #thenext25 

    InterCommunity 2017 NYC NodeThe Internet Society is 25 years old, and we are looking at #thenext25.

    Join us at the Cornell Club on on September 19 to celebrate, and participate in a ISOC’s annual global meetup, InterCommunity 2017.

    New York is North America’s only Interactive Node and we’re planning a very special event!

    InterCommunity is an annual event where the Internet Society’s 110+ chapters and 80k+ members participate in a global meetup, as regional nodes take it in turns to present local news, and discuss global issues. Anyone may participate online, but certain Chapters mount interactive nodes. In 2017 NYC has the honor to represent the North America Region.

        Hi, It is my understanding that the ISOC BD chapter will be running a node in Dhaka, check http://www.isoc.org.bd/dhaka/ – or, you will be participate individually online in InterCommunity. Further info on how to do that will sent out closer to the day.

    MEETUP TUESDAY: InterCommunity 2015 Global Member Meeting New York node @CivicHall #iComm2015 

    Next Tuesday/Wednesday July 7-8 2015 the Internet Society will be holding InterCommunity2015 – the first online meeting of our entire 70k+ global members. Session 1 on Tuesday will be optimally timed for participation in the Western Hemisphere and iComm2015ISOC-NY will be one of several Chapters setting up “nodes” (= remote hubs) to participate. We will meet at Civic Hall starting at 2pm, and the session will run 3pm-6:30pm. After which there will be a reception. We are honoured to be joined in person by ISOC VP of Global Engagement Raúl Echeberría, who will address the global meeting via our node. Space is limited but all ISOC NY members are invited to attend. Please register via our meetup. It is also possible to individually participate remotely in the Global Meeting (including the Session 2 – 2:00am EDT on Wednesday).
